UK Digital Rights are going to be amended

Peter Mandelson is working on the proposal of the UK Digital Rights amendment plan after EU have agreed to change the famous Paragraph 183 to force cut-off’s to internet piracy offenders, who are abusing the usage rights by downloading illegal software, music and movies from the Internet. The only thing is that this won’t help music industry at all. It has been estimated that UK’s music industry looses around £200m pa. The cost of the enforcement of the digital watch for a single ISP (like BT) would cost around a £1m per day, which brings us to £365m pa. That’s almost twice the music industry loss and there is no real proof that cut-offs will help to reduce the factor of the music piracy anyway.

The chairman of the BT, a leader in communication services in the UK, said yesterday that these enforcements will not help at all and it’s really pointless to even implement this. Also there would be no privacy anymore.
